“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
As a native of Effingham County, I love my community. I am thankful that I get to serve my hometown each and every day in an effort to honor our past achievements and strive towards future successes as a county. I believe in the values and ideals that our community and the Effingham County School District work to foster each day. I am thankful to God for the opportunity to serve as the Principal of Springfield Elementary School.
My name is Cory Martin, and I am so excited to be joining the TEAM at Springfield Elementary this year! I have been in education since 2009, and truly enjoy getting the opportunity to serve students and their families. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Georgia, a Master of Arts in Teaching Middle Grades Mathematics and Science, as well as my Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University. I love the University of Georgia, and could not be more excited to be a Bulldog again this year!
My wife, Katie, and I have been married for twelve years, and we have two girls. Katie is also in education, and is a 7th grade teacher at South Effingham Middle School. Carter Anne will be in 3rd grade, and our youngest, Guerin, will begin Pre-K this year. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching UGA football.
I am so thankful for this opportunity to work with the TEAM at Springfield Elementary, and look forward to serving the students, families, and staff at SES!
